This guide will show you how to configure your IPBurger proxy inside Incogniton for secure and isolated browsing.

## Before You Start

Make sure you have:

✔️ Installed and logged in to Incogniton

✔️ An active IPBurger proxy

✔️ Your proxy details:

:::Paragraph{listStyleType="disc" indent="2"}
Host / IP Address
:::

:::Paragraph{listStyleType="disc" listStart="2" indent="2"}
Port
:::

:::Paragraph{listStyleType="disc" listStart="3" indent="2"}
Username
:::

:::Paragraph{listStyleType="disc" listStart="4" indent="2"}
Password
:::

You can find these inside your IPBurger [dashboard](https://www.secure.ipburger.com/clientarea.php?action=services). Below is a sample view of the IPBurger dashboard:

***⚠️*** The dashboard interface may vary slightly depending on your purchased proxy type.

## Convert Hostname to IP Address (If Needed)

Some applications require an **IP address instead of a hostname**. If your setup does not accept a hostname, you’ll need to convert it to an IP address first.

Below are examples based on your proxy type:

***

:::hint{type="info"}
**Fresh / Dedicated Proxies**

These proxy types typically use a hostname like this:

89-34-XX-XX.ip.fresh.ipb.cloud
149-28-XXX-XXX.ip.private.ipb.cloud

Simply remove the domain portion and you will be left with:

89-34-XX-XX
149-28-XXX-XXX

These represent the IP address format (with dashes instead of dots). You can convert it to standard IP format by replacing dashes with dots.

89.34.X.X
149.28.X.X
:::

****

:::hint{type="info"}
**Residential / Mobile Proxies**

Residential proxies typically use a rotating gateway hostname like:

residential.ipb.cloud
res.ipb.cloud
resi3.ipb.cloud
mobile.ipb.cloud

**Convert Hostname to IP**

1. Open Command Prompt (Windows) or Terminal (Mac/Linux)

- Windows: Press Win + R → type cmd → Enter

2. Run the command:**
 *ping residential.ipb.cloud*
3. Look for the IP address in the result. You will see something like:
 *Pinging residential.ipb.cloud \[111.222.333.444]*

👉 The number inside the brackets **\[ ]** is the resolved IP address.
