This guide will walk you through setting up an IPBurger VPN/Proxy on your iOS device using manual proxy configuration. Follow these steps to ensure a secure connection when using Wi-Fi.
Manual Proxy Configuration
Steps:
- Open Settings: Start by going to your device's settings.
- Wi-Fi Settings: Tap on "Wi-Fi" to see the list of available networks.
3. Select Wi-Fi Network:
- Tap the "i" icon next to the Wi-Fi network name you are connected to or want to connect to.
4. Access Proxy Settings:
- Scroll down and find the "Configure Proxy" option.
- Select "Manual" to manually enter the proxy details
5. Setup Configuration:
- Enter the proxy details: Server and Port.
- If the proxy requires a username and password, toggle on "Authentication" and enter your credentials in the provided fields.
6. Save Settings: Once everything is configured, make sure to save the settings to activate the proxy.
7. Sign-in: After saving all settings, a pop-up will appear in the Wi-Fi settings. Enter your proxy username and password in the designated fields to authenticate your connection.
Important Notes:
Disadvantages of Using a Proxy on iOS:
- Unsaved Configuration: If you switch away from the proxy configuration screen without saving, your settings will be discarded, and you'll be returned to the Wi-Fi network list.
- Credential Pop-up: After saving your configurations, iOS may display a pop-up within the Wi-Fi settings, which prevents you from switching screens until addressed.
- Cellular Data: iOS currently does not support direct proxy connections on cellular data.
By following these steps, you can securely connect to your IPBurger VPN/Proxy service on your iOS device when using Wi-Fi.
